How do I save files to my local computer from Generations?This article applies to both Vision SIS and Self Hosted instances.
Prior to Editing
In the report, select Output Option.
Click the Excel radio button.
Do not click the Open in Excel check box.
Enter the name you wish to call the file, in the Output File Name field (be sure to include the .xls file extension).
Click the … button located next to the Drive/path where output file will be stored field
In the popup which follows, click the + icon next to the word computer. Please note: if the icon is already a – icon do not click it
Click the + next to the letter C followed by ON Your computer name.
Scroll all the way down to the Users folder and click the folder.
Click your username in the directory tree that is displayed.
After the directory expands, scroll down until you locate the My Documents folder and click the folder.
Once the folder is selected, click the OK button in the bottom of the window.
Once the window closes, verify the file name you have chosen in the Output filename field (circled in orange).
Once you have verified the file name above, verify Drive/path where output file will be stored field (circled in orange), it should now contain \\TSCLIENT\ followed by a path.
Once you have verified all of the above, click the OK button on the upper right corner of the screen.
When the windows closes, you have completed configuration. Click the Print Button.
