Averages Not Showing in Final Grade Entry

« Go Back

Information

Date:1/13/2015
Source: CRLLCCRLLC Technical Support (JEG)
Symptom
When in the Final Grade Entry screen all grades show as 0 (zero) even if Unlock All & Recalculate is clicked.  In the Summary Grid, it correctly shows the average.
Cause
This is most likely because the course does not have a grade scale assigned to it.
Resolution
The two options to fix this are found in the Staff & Administrator Portals. The Administrator Portal option is a global fix.  If multiple courses have this issue, use the Administrator Portal option.

Option 1 (Staff Portal)
  1. Go to Manage >> Edit Course Catalog. Please refer to the screen shot below.

  1. Find the course and look at the Grade Scale column.  If this field is blank, this is the cause of grade not being displayed.
  2. Click the pencil next to the class to edit the course.
  3. In the middle group of drop downs next to Grade Scale select Numeric or Letter depending on the scale the school uses.
  4. Click Save.

Option 2 (Admin Portal)
  1. Under Grade Book >> Configure MMS Grade Book

  1. Verify that the correct school, in a multi-school database, is selected in the filter.
  2. Select the Default Grade Scale (Numeric or Letter).
  3. Select the Default Grade Point Value Group.
  4. Adjust remaining options as appropriate to your schools.
  5. Click Save Settings.
  6. A pop up will display asking to Overwrite or Do Not Overwrite.
    1. Overwrite will make every class have the settings you just created.
    2. Do Not Overwrite only assigns the settings to the classes that have no settings assigned to them.
  7. Select the option that best suits your schools needs.

Additional Information
Make sure you are in the right school year and school.
