Prior To Implementation
Have a copy of the school calendar available to see which dates for the coming school year will be holidays, teacher workshop days, vacation.
Resolution
MMS Generations

Daily Jobs Menu, More Attendance Editing Jobs, Edit Calendars

1. Calendar Identification Code Editor Tab
  1. Add a new record
  2. Enter New Calendar ID Code (limit 3 characters)
  3. Enter Description for the Calendar
  4. Repeat for additional Calendars

2. Auto Edit Calendar Days Tab
  1. Select Calendar to work with from drop-down
  2. Choose the starting date and ending date for the school year
  3. Adjust # of units per school day as needed (this is most often 1.00 depending on how you want Attendance Totals to calculate)
  4. Select the checkboxes for “Days of week to include in school year”
  5. Select the checkbox to auto-link schedule option for class or online attendance (if you have a 5 day schedule week, MMS will automatically link the Schedule Day to each date in the calendar)
  6. Choose the Process button to save the updates

3. Calendar Editor Tab
  1. Select Calendar to work with from drop-down
  2. Select the month to work with
  3. Double-click on the date on which you want to adjust session days (example: You are adjusting the number of attendance sessions for the date; most commonly, if you have selected 1.00 units per session day, session day will be “1” for a single session day, “0” for a non-school day on which you will not be taking attendance)
  4. Adjust # of units
  5. Verify Schedule Day drop-down for the selected date
  6. Enter any Notes you wish to display on the Calendar
  7. Enter a “day description” that will also link to calendar on the parent and student portal
  8. Repeat for each non-session day and half days (e.g. holidays, vacations, teacher workshops, winter break) – In the case of a multi-day or week vacations, set each day to 0.00
4. Save and Exit the Calendar
 
Staff Portal

Attendance Menu, Editing Jobs, Edit Calendars

1. Select “Calendar Id Code Editor”
  1. Add New Code
  2. Enter New Calendar ID Code (limit 3 characters)
  3. Enter Description for the Calendar
  4. If applicable, select checkbox for “Default Calendar”
  5. Save
  6. Repeat for additional Calendars
  7. Close
2.  Select Calendar to work with by choosing the “Edit” icon
  1. Set Up Calendar Tab
  • Choose the starting date and ending date for the school year
  • Adjust # of units per school day as needed (this is most often 1.00 depending on how you want Attendance Totals to calculate)
  • Select the checkboxes for “Days of week to include in school year”
  • Apply
b.  Assign Schedule Days Tab
  •  Choose Starting date
  • Select starting day
  • Choose Ending date
  • Apply
c.  Edit Calendar Days Tab
  • Select the month to work with
