This article is designed to walk the user through the steps involved in calculating class rank.
Prior To Implementation
Be a Vision SIS Client.
Requires staff-level access.
The following must be completed before class rank can be calculated.
Grades to be entered for students.
GPA Categories to be created in Generations.
GPA calculations are up-to-date.

Use the menu and go to Grades > Operations > Compute Class Rank or use the search function found in the My Dashboard area.
The following window opens.
From the drop-down list, select the GPA Category on which to base class rank. Class rank calculations are directly based upon a GPA calculation.
Choose which students for whom you want to calculate class rank.
Compute for a selected year of graduation. From the drop-down list, select the year of graduation to process. Class rank will be calculated for the selected year of graduation only.
Compute for all by year of graduation. This option will calculate, in a single pass, class rank for all available years of graduation.
Immediately on completion, the following window opens, displaying students grouped by year of graduation (YOG) ordered by their calculated rank.
To sort the list, drag the column header to sort, into the sort area (in the red box pictured above). To change the sort order from ascending to descending, click on the column header in the sort area.
The report can be exported as a PDF or Excel file.
Class Rank is now calculated and can be included in transcripts, report cards, etc.
