Use this job to make course edits which will apply to all students or a range of students. This job has options to add courses, drop courses, or to replace courses for every student within the selected range. Conditional adds and drops can also be performed. The software automatically updates the enrollment figures and student free-time records for edits made using this operation.

Prior To Implementation

Be a Vision SIS client.

Use the menu and go to Scheduling > Operations > Mass-Edit Student Schedule Records or use the search function found in the My Dashboard area.
The following window opens:

Before running this operation, make sure the correct School Code and School Year are set!
Add Courses. This operation will not check for conflicts or overloads. This operation will not allow the same course to a student’s schedule more than once, with or without a section.

  1. Determine the students to be processed. This can be done by using a student filter or the Student Range.

  2. Use the +Add Entry button to include the courses to process.

  1. Click the drop-down and scroll to the course to select, or type the course name or number in the Select Course… area.

  2. Use the trashcan button to the right of the course to remove a selection.

  3. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all courses to be processed are selected. There is no limit to the number of courses that can be selected.

  4. Process.

Conditionally Add Courses. This operation will not check for conflicts or overloads. This operation will not allow the same course to a student’s schedule more than once, with or without a section.

  1. Determine the students to be processed. This can be done by using a student filter or the Student Range.

  2. Use the +Add Entry button to enter the conditional course and the course to process. For all students with the conditional course, the new course will be added to their schedule.

  1. Select Original Course. Click the drop-down and scroll to the course to select, or type the course name or number in the Select Original Course… area.

Option 1. Select the course code to process all students with this course request. Students scheduled into a specific section will not be affected. 
Option 2. Select the course code with the asterisk, i.e. “101 - *” to process all students with this course, regardless of the section, or if the student is not scheduled into a section.
Option 3. Select the course code + section to process all students in a specific section.
 

  1. New Course. Click the drop-down and scroll to the course to select, or type the course name or number in the New Course area.

  2. Repeat steps 2 through 4 until all conditional course entries to be processed are selected. There is no limit to the number of entries.

  3. Process.

Remove Courses. This operation will not drop any course-section in which even one student has a grade or skills grade recorded. This operation will not drop any section when the section’s term starting date is equal to or earlier than the current date. Because the operation will not drop any course that has already begun (or has finished) it will not assign Section Exit Dates.

Replace Courses. This operation combines a mass add with a mass drop. The same validations applied with a mass drop are also applied here. This operation will not drop any course-section in which even one student has a grade or skills grade recorded. This operation will not drop any section when the section’s term starting date is equal to or earlier than the current date. Because the operation will not drop any course that has already begun (or has finished) it will not assign Section Exit Dates.
